Am 6. September 2019 erscheint das Debüt Album mit zehn Tracks und vier Remixe der Elektro-Rock Band IAMWARFACE. Frontmann Matt Warneford (vocals) gründete die Band 2016 zusammen mit Mike Smith (bass) , Louis Matthews (guitar), Adam Stanley (drums) und Tom Howe (synths) in London. „You Don’t Love Me Anymore“, „Closer“, „Fear The Future“ und „Say My Name“ wurden bereits als Singles veröffentlicht. Vocals im 80er Jahre Stil, abstrakte Gitarrenriffs, ein impulsiver Bass und pochender Drum Beat gepaart mit dem eindringlichen Synth Sound ergeben zusammen den einzigartigen IAMWARFACE Charakter. Der legendäre Virgin Radio Moderator Eddie Temple Morris erfand ein neues Genre für die Jungs und nannte es „Rocktronica“.   Der Song „Bleed Out“ ist eine groovige Up-Tempo Nummer, die allerdings eine traurige Hintergrundgeschichte hat. Der Text handelt von dem selbstzerstörerischen Verhalten eines nahe stehenden Freundes Warnefords. Sänger Matt Warneford versteht es Lyrics und Melodien zu schreiben, die nicht nach Mainstream klingen und sich von dem, was es heutzutage auf dem Musikmarkt zu hören gibt, abheben. „Fear The Future“ spiegelt die Ängste, die sicher jeder von uns schon einmal gehabt hat. Angst vor der Zukunft, dem Alleinsein, vor dem Bankrott sind nur Einige davon. „It’s all in the news, the act is done, they’ve got us, all and alone, praise the lord, cheat us all, It’s televised, another fear, It’s all I hear, It gives me the creeps, I fear the future, won’t you take me with ya?“. Die Debüt Scheibe deckt viele Facetten ab – „Get So High“ ist eine mitreißende tanzbare Clubnummer. Unsere momentane weltweite politische Lage wird durch „Atomic Wild Gold“ thematisiert. „When you’re talking to ghosts of years gone past Look! everybody’s leaving now, blown away on the wind, that bought them all to this town, to make way for the war machines, to light them all up and make em clean. Atomic White Gold, just like the real thing .“ Für mich assoziiert der Text die Bedrohung durch Atomwaffen, kontrolliert von kopflosen Politikern, die rücksichtslos und ohne Gewissen ihre Macht demonstrieren wollen. Das Schlusslicht des Albums bildet „Trigons“ und gibt noch einmal energiegeladen Vollgas. Das Artwork des Albums hat Warneford, der neben der Musik auch zeichnet, selbst entworfen. Auf ein zweites Album darf man auch gespannt sein, da selbiger schon fleißig an neuen Werken schreibt.

On 6th September 2019 the debut album of the electronic-rock band IAMWARFACE will be released with ten tracks and four remixes. Frontman Matt Warneford (vocals) founded the band 2016 together with Mike Smith (bass) , Louis Matthews (guitar), Adam Stanley (drums) and Tom Howe (synths) in London. „You Don’t Love Me Anymore“, „Closer“, „Fear The Future“ and „Say My Name“ have already been released as singles. Vocals in the 80’s style, abstract guitar riffs, an impulsive bass, a throbbing drum beat paired with the haunting synth sound make up the unique IAMWARFACE character. The legendary Virgin Radio presenter Eddie Temple Morris invented a new genre for the guys and called it „Rocktronica“.  The song „Bleed Out“ is a groovy up tempo number with a sad background story. The lyrics are about the self-destructive behaviour of a close friend of Warneford. Singer Matt Warneford knows how to write lyrics and melodies that don’t sound like mainstream and stand out from what you hear on the music market today. „Fear The Future“ reflects the fears that each of us has certainly had before. Fear of the future, of being alone, of bankruptcy are just a few of them. „It’s all in the news, the act is done, they’ve got us, all and alone, praise the lord, cheat us all, It’s televised, another fear, It’s all I hear, It gives me the creeps, I fear the future, won’t you take me with ya?“. The debut album covers many facets, „Get So High“ is a thrilling danceable club number. I associate „Atomic Wild Gold“ with our current global political situation and the threat of nuclear weapons, controlled by headless politicians who want to demonstrate their power ruthlessly and without conscience. „When you’re talking to ghosts of years gone past Look! everybody’s leaving now, blown away on the wind, that bought them all to this town, to make way for the war machines, to light them all up and make em clean. Atomic White Gold, just like the real thing.“ „Trigons“ is the final light of the album and gives full throttle again full of energy. The artwork of the album was designed by Warneford himself, who also draws besides the music. You can also look forward to a second album, because he is already busy writing new works.
