Ich möchte euch folgende Band und ihre EP ‚Nocturnal Youth‘ vorstellen, die mich wirklich ‚geflasht‘ hat. Pistols At Dawn ist eine amerikanische Rockband aus Atlanta, Georgia (USA). Sie wurden 2015 von Schlagzeuger Adam Jaffe, Gitarrist Devin White, Gitarrist Mike Buffa und Bassist Billy Sullivan gegründet. Gitarrist Mike Buffa kam 2018 auf tragische Weise ums Leben, und die Band fand 2019 mit dem Gitarristen Tommy Richardson wieder zusammen. Frontmann Chris Pierson ist Sänger und ehemaliger VH1 Rockstar Supernova-Finalist. Im Jahr 2020 veröffentlichten Pistols At Dawn mit ‚Cold‘, ‚Gauntlet‘ und ‚All You Offer‘ drei Singles. Die EP ‚Nocturnal Youth‘ wurde am 7. Mai 2021 veröffentlicht. Der Song ‚Voices‘ war der Vorreiter und erste Singleauskopplung aus der EP. Weitere hitverdächtige Lieder wie ‚Crown‘ ‚Now Is The Time‘ und ‚Gone Black‘ ließen nicht lange auf sich warten. ‚Nocturnal Youth‘ wurde vom Produzenten Jeff Tomei, welcher bereits mit den Smashing Pumpkins und Matchbox 20 zuammen gearbeitet hat, aufgenommen und von Maor Appelbaum gemastert. Letzterer wird einigen vielleicht durch Faith No More und Sepultura ein Begriff sein.
Das Musikvideo zu ‚Gone Black‘ zeigt die spektakuläre Make-Up Arbeit des Special Effect Künstlers Shane Morton von Silver Scream FX und wurde passenderweise in der düsteren Herbst- und Halloweenzeit veröffentlicht.
Die Bandmitglieder erklären: „‚Gone Black‘ handelt von Menschen, die ihr eigenes Elend verursachen. Sie leben ihr Leben in Stagnation, während sie denken, dass sie richtig leben, während sie in ihrer eigenen Arroganz und/oder Ignoranz versinken und einem immerwährenden Kreislauf folgen. Es lässt sie jedes Mal mit einem Nichts zurück.“
Derzeit arbeiten Pistols Of Dawn intensiv an ihrem nächsten Album, welches in 2022 erscheinen soll.

I would like to introduce you to the following band and its EP ‚Nocturnal Youth‘, which really thrilled me. Pistols At Dawn is an American rock band based in Atlanta, Georgia (US). They formed in 2015 by drummer Adam Jaffe, guitarist Devin White, guitarist Mike Buffa and bassist Billy Sullivan. The guitarist Mike Buffa died tragically in 2018, and the band reunited with guitarist Tommy Richardson in 2019. Frontman Chris Pierson is singer and former VH1 rock star Supernova finalist. In 2020 Pistols At Dawn released with „Cold“ „Gauntlet“ and „All You Offer“ three singles. The EP ‚Nocturnal Youth‘ was released on May the 7th, 2021. The song ‚Voices‘ was the forerunner and first single from the EP. Other high-impact songs such as ‚Crown‘ ‚Now Is The Time‘ and ‚Gone Black‘ followed quickly. ‚Nocturnal Youth‘ was recorded by producer Jeff Tomei, who has already worked with the Smashing Pumpkins and Matchbox 20, and was mastered by Maor Appelbaum. The latter might be known to some through Faith No More and Sepultura.
The music video for ‚Gone Black‘ features the spectacular make-up work of special effects artist Shane Morton of Silver Scream FX and was appropriately released during the gloomy autumn and Halloween season.
The band members explain: “‘Gone Black’ is about people who cause their own misery. They are living their lives stagnant while thinking they are living right, all the while sinking into their own arrogance and/or ignorance and following a perpetual cycle. It leaves them with nothing every time.”
Pistols Of Dawn are currently working intensively on their next album, which is supposed to be released in 2022.
