Das „Ripe & Ruin“ Trio, bestehend aus Gordon N. Domnick (Gesang, Bass), Florian Kaninck (Gitarre) und Jannis Balzer (Schlagzeug) aus Hamburg – St. Pauli, bringt die 0815 Musikkultur und monotonen Töne, mit ihrem Alternative-Rock Sound sowie der gewissen Priese Grunge und Blues, gehörig ins Schwitzen. Nach den beiden vorangegangenen EP’s „The Eye Of The World“ und „Breaking Circles“ erschien am 24. Januar 2020 das Debüt-Album „Everything For Nothing“ mit insgesamt neun Tracks, welches 2019 in den „Home Studios“ in Hamburg eingespielt wurde. Mit dem Produzenten Franz Plasa haben in den „Home Studios“ schon Größen wie „Depeche Mode“, „Selig“, „Udo Lindenberg“ und „Echt“ aufgenommen. Der Opener „Drop Your Knife“ beginnt mit Akustikgitarren- und Klavierklängen, wechselt dann zur E-Gitarre bis Sänger Gordon Domnick seine kratzige Reibeisenstimme zur vollen Geltung entfaltet. „Greed“ besticht durch seine verzerrte, rockige Gitarren Riffs. „It Ain’t Me“ fällt eindeutig durch seine Blues-Einflüsse auf. „Bleed Me Out“ startet mit einem starkem Groove und behält diesen den ganzen Track bei. Die markante Stimme von Gordon N. Domnick und den Wechsel zwischen rauen und seichtem Gesang machen diesen Track zum Appetizer. „Forever“ startet ruhig und wird dann überraschenderweise richtig funkig. Die Platte bietet eine willkommene Abwechslung zum heutigen Einheitsbrei, der leider an vielen Ecken der Musiklandschaft zu hören ist. Die Band geht ab dem 26. Februar 2020 auf Tour und ist unter anderem am 29. Februar 2020 live im Molotow in Hamburg zu sehen.

The „Ripe & Ruin“ trio, consisting of Gordon N. Domnick (vocals, bass), Florian Kaninck (guitar) and Jannis Balzer (drums) from Hamburg- St. Pauli, brings the 0815 music culture and monotonous sounds, with their alternative rock sound and the certain prized grunge and blues, to sweat. After the two previous EP’s „The Eye Of The World“ and „Breaking Circles“, their debut album „Everything For Nothing“ was released on January 24th, 2020 with a total of nine tracks, which were recorded in the „Home Studios“ in Hamburg in 2019. Producer Franz Plasa has already recorded in his „Home Studios“ greats like „Depeche Mode“, „Selig“, „Udo Lindenberg“ and „Echt“. The opener „Drop Your Knife“ starts with acoustic guitar and piano sounds, then changes to electric guitar until singer Gordon Domnick unfolds his scratchy rubbing voice to its fullest extent. „Greed“ impresses with its distorted, rocky guitar riffs. „It Ain’t Me“ clearly stands out because of its blues influences. „Bleed Me Out“ starts with a strong groove and keeps it throughout the track. The characteristic voice of Gordon N. Domnick and the change between rough and shallow vocals make this track an appetizer. „Forever and Beyond“ starts quietly and then surprisingly gets really funky. The record offers a welcome change to today’s standard mash, which unfortunately can be heard in many corners of the music scene. The band will go on tour starting February 26th, 2020 and can be seen live at the Molotow in Hamburg on February 29th, 2020.
