Großbritannien hat, was gute Musik betrifft, einiges zu bieten. Es lohnt sich ab und an einmal rüber zuschauen, was es auf der Insel so Neues an Klangkunst gibt. Vor kurzem entdeckte ich eine Electro-Rock-Band aus England. „IAMWARFACE“ heißt die Band, welche Sänger und Producer Matt Warneford 2016 in London gegründet hat. Zusammen mit Louis Matthews (guitars), Tom Howe (synths), Mike Smith (bass) and Adam Stanley (drums) veröffentlichte er bis jetzt einige Singles, die letzte hieß „You Don´t Love Me Anymore“ – eine sofort im Gedächtnis bleibende Up-Tempo Nummer, die echtes Hitpotenzial aufweist. Am 13. Juli 2018 erscheint der neue Song „Closer“. Ich durfte schon einmal vorab hineinhören. „Closer“ durchdringt von Anfang an die Venen und verursacht zudem ein sehr starkes Gänsehautgefühl. Es ist ein sehr ernstes Lied mit äußerst dunkler mitreißender Lyrik, die im Geiste ihren Platz findet. Schnelligkeit bedarf es hier nicht, die Musik zieht einen auch so in ihren Bann. Sänger Matt Warneford fragt: „Who am I? I am just living to die.“ Die Zeit spielt eine zentrale Rolle in diesem Song. Niemand von uns weiß, wie viel Zeit wir wirklich haben, bis wir sterben. Er führt weiter fort: „I used to have a soul , I just lost control.“ „Closer“ berührt wirklich Herz und Seele. Seid ihr bereit, euch den ernsten Fragen des Lebens zu stellen? Der Tod ist in der heutigen Gesellschaft leider noch ein vollkommenes Tabuthema. Die Musik hingegen beschäftigt sich schon sehr lange und ausführlich damit. Wir alle kommen irgendwann dem Tod näher. Der eine früher, der andere später.

On July 13, 2018, the new song „Closer“ will be released. I was allowed to listen in advance. „Closer“ permeates the veins right from the start and also causes a very strong gooseflesh feeling. It is a very serious song with very dark, rousing lyrics that finds its place in the spirit. Speed is not needed here, the music also captivates you. Singer Matt Warneford asks: „Who am I? I am just living to die „. Time plays a central role in this song. None of us knows how much time we really have, until we die. He continues: „I just used to have a soul, I just lost control“. „Closer“ really touches heart and soul. Are you ready to face the serious questions of life? Unfortunately, death is still a taboo subject in today’s society. The music, on the other hand, has been dealing with it for a long time and at length. We all come closer to death someday.
