„Lofe“ ist nach „Filosophy“ das zweite Album der drei Oberpfälzer Samuel Meier (vocals, bass), Om Hari Lasar (vocals, guitar) und Jonas Böhm (drums) und wurde von Hubi Hoffman in dem „Slash Zero Records“ Studio in Abensberg (Bayern) produziert. Programm des Albums ist das englische Wort für Liebe, jedoch hat die Band den Titel mit einem „F“ geschrieben. Dieses Vorgehen zieht sich durch, wie ein roter Faden, da das Vorgängeralbum auch schon mit einem „F“ statt mit „Ph“ geschrieben wurde, genauso wie der Bandname, der übersetzt „Banause“ oder auch „Spießbürger“ bedeutet.
Der Opener „All In“ ist startet mit sanftem Gitarrenklängen und wechselt dann erstaunlicherweise ins Groovige. Om Hari Lasars Stimmfarbe variiert von klar zu rau. Die Nummer entwickelt sich ins Funkige und gewinnt im Laufe an Tempo.
Die aktuelle Single „Play“ bleibt der funkigen Schiene treu, lädt allerdings noch den Blues mit hierzu ein. Hier ist Samuel Meier am Mikrofon und verleiht dem Ganzen einen gewissen Flow. „Play“ bringt gute Laune zum Vorschein und dürfte selbst jeden Tanzmuffel zum Tanzen bringen.
Ein Drumsolo eröffnet „Texas“ und der Beat, der Texas-Blues, sowie der Gesang lassen einen wahrlich gefühlt in den Süden der USA verschwinden. „Racing down the highway ,home, back home again, just tryin‘ to get through, pretty darling, gone for far too long, can’t wait to come home.“ Wenn ein Song einen alle Alltagssorgen vergessen lässt und jemand es sich bildlich vorstellen kann, wie der Wind durch die Haare weht und mit dem Wagen durch die Sonnen fährt, während dieses Lied läuft, hat die Band alles richtig gemacht.
„Bad Name“ hat etwas locker Leichtes an sich und man schwebt wie eine Feder den ganzen Song mit.
„Love“ beginnt geheimnisvoll, anmutig und überrascht später durch rockige Riffs und Reggae Einflüsse.
In „Rival Sons“ erklingen Keyboardsounds und der Song erinnert leicht an Deep Purple, was nicht nur an dem Keyboard liegt, sondern auch an dem Feeling und dem Gesang, der einen Hauch 70´s mit sich bringt. Eine funkige Nuance verleiht dem Track aber seine ganz eigene Note.
Es gibt nicht viele deutsche Bands, die Rock, Funk und Blues miteinander mischen können und dabei etwas Erfrischendes zaubern. „Lofe“ beinhaltet zehn Tracks die viel Facettenreichtum bieten.
Die Farben des Layouts haben etwas Sommerliches, welches auch wieder im Einklang zu den Liedern steht. Einziges Manko ist, dass der Text und die Lyrics im Booklet sehr klein abgedruckt worden sind.
„Lofe“ ist ein Konzeptalbum, in dem alle möglichen Arten von Liebe vertont wurden. Sei es die romantische, sexuelle Liebe, Heimatliebe, Geschwisterliebe oder sogar die Schattenseiten der Liebe, wie Eifersucht und der Verlust von Liebe. Alle Songs werden somit unter einem großen Banner der Liebe vereint.

After „Filosophy“, „Lofe“ is the second album of the three Oberpfälzer (Bavaria, Germany) Samuel Meier (vocals, bass), Om Hari Lasar (vocals, guitar) and Jonas Böhm (drums) and was produced by Hubi Hoffman in the „Slash Zero Records“ studio in Abensberg (Bavaria). Program of the album is the English word for love, but the band has written the title with an „F“. This procedure runs through like a red thread, because the previous album was also written with an „F“ instead of a „Ph“, just like the band name, which means „peasant“.
The opener „All In“ starts with soft guitar sounds and then changes unexpectedly into the groovy. Om Hari Lasar’s vocal color varies from clear to rough. The number develops into a funky one and gains in tempo as it progresses.
The current single „Play“ stays true to the funky direction, but still invites the blues to join in. Here Samuel Meier is on the microphone and gives the whole thing a certain flow. „Play“ brings out the good mood and should make even every dance grouch dance.
A drum solo opens „Texas“ and the beat, the Texas blues, as well as the vocals make you literally feel like you’re in the south of the USA. „Racing down the highway ,home, back home again, just tryin‘ to get through, pretty darling, gone for far too long, can’t wait to come home.“ When a song makes you forget all your everyday worries, and someone can imagine the wind blowing through your hair and driving your car through the sun while this song is playing, the band has done everything right.
„Bad Name“ has something loosely light about it and you float along like a feather the whole song.
„Love“ starts mysteriously, gracefully and later surprises with rocking riffs and reggae influences.
In „Rival Sons“ keyboard sounds can be heard and the song slightly reminds of Deep Purple, which is not only because of the keyboard, but also due of the feeling and the singing, which brings a touch of 70’s. But a funky nuance gives the track its very own touch.
There are not many German bands that can mix rock, funk and blues and create something refreshing. „Lofe“ contains ten tracks that offer a lot of facets.
The colors of the layout have something summery, which is also in harmony with the songs. The only deficit is that the lyrics and the lyrics in the booklet have been printed very small.
„Lofe“ is a concept album in which all kinds of love were set to music. Be it romantic, sexual love, love of home, brother and sister love or even the dark sides of love like jealousy and the loss of love. All songs are united under one big banner of love.
