Inspiriert von Künstlern wie Anne Clark, Propaganda, VNV Nation und Erasure entstand der Song aus einem sehr persönlichen Ausgangspunkt: Sängerin Kay verarbeitete in einem Gedicht ihre Gedanken zur aktuellen Weltlage, angelehnt an ein Märchen von Hans Christian Andersen.
